Short Creek Baptist Church desires to be a lighthouse to our community by sharing the grace and forgiveness of Jesus Christ; and showing the love of Jesus Christ.
We believe the Mission of our church was given by Jesus Himself when He told the Church: “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28: 18-20 CSB).
Making disciples is so much more than “getting people saved.” We are committed to helping people have a growing relationship with Jesus and to know Him better each day.
As followers of Jesus we believe it is our obligation and our privilege to show the love of Jesus Christ to others through acts of ministry.
When Jesus was asked what was the greatest commandment (i.e. what is the most important thing in life), He told us “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22: 37-39)
We strive to live this out each and every day.
Our beliefs are explained, in depth, in the Baptist Faith and Message (BFM 2000). http://www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfm2000.asp
